T
he John & Ken Show
Los Angeles, KFI 640 AM
M-F 2pm-7pm
John & Ken made their long-awaited return to the KFI-AM 640 airwaves in May, 2001 and Southern California hasn’t been the same since. Whether giving listeners their take on the OJ Simpson trial, which helped vault them to #1 during the original stint on KFI, telling listeners what to expect next during the war against terrorism, or the recall of former Governor Davis, John and Ken can always be counted on for relevant, provocative and entertaining radio. Luckily for them as John Kobylt states, “there seems to be no shortage of idiocy.”
John & Ken got their start as radio personalities working together in New Jersey, and were hired by former Program Director David G. Hall to host afternoon drive on KFI in 1992. Neither liberal nor conservative, John has repeatedly stated that their show only exists to provide a profit for their many sponsors and their radio stations.
John Kobylt is the rabble-rouser who mercilessly take callers apart, especially if they appear to represent causes that are dubious. Ken Chiampou is the effective foil for John. He provides the opposing viewpoint, and usually addresses the issue at hand more calmly and rationally than John does.
