A Brief History:
Gregg (Opie) Hughes and Anthony Cumia first came together in August of 1994 on WBAB in Long Island. When their proposal to move the show to AM or PM Drive was declined by station management, they left for Boston.
In 1995, O & A debuted on WAAF in Boston. They dominated Boston for three years.. In June 1998, CBS Radio’s WNEW brought Opie & Anthony to New York and syndicated them in 22 markets.
For the last two years, The Opie and Anthony Show has been aired exclusively on XM Satellite Radio.. The show covers a wide array of topics, and is very interactive with callers.
Along with daily partner Jim Norton, O & A celebrity regulars include the likes of Colin Quinn, Stephen Lynch, Jay Mohr, Joe Rogan, Ralphie May, Frank Caliendo, Bill Burr, Robert Kelly and Jim Breuer.
In one of the first ever Satellite/Terrestrial radio shared programming deals, Opie and Anthony will broadcast for 3-hours of shared FM/XM programming every Monday through Friday from 6:00 AM – 9:00 AM.
